Newspaper Headlines from around the World

Published by awesometbn on Tagged News Headlines

Okay, this should be interesting. This is my experiment with viral video (meaning that if something becomes wildly popular we now have an easy method in place to quickly distribute that particular video, it’s called the “embed” button). I have partnered with multiple news organizations to provide updated stories that seem to be related to the trombone. These news organizations include Reuters, The Associated Press (AP), Agence France Press (AFP), The Denver Post, The Sports Network, and many others. At this time I am able to grab their video feeds, but I am still working on getting text articles by themselves. I’ll update this section when they become available. In the meantime enjoy the following reports.

Thank you for supporting Awesome Trombone Links! You should be able to find some great CDs and recordings for that special trombone student or professional.

For your convenience we have searched Amazon high and low for all trombone related items. Below each CD or recording we have tried to include as much information as possible (title, author, recording label, etc.) to help you identify the recordings you might want.

By the way, Amazon is not the only place we found trombone recordings for sale. We will continue to update this page with new vendors as soon as we have the time to integrate more CSS and XHTML code into our webpages.

Our (dated) collection of Big Bands, Chamber Groups, and Performance Ensembles. We are using this as a placeholder for some older content, and plan to make individual posts out of each item as we review it and update it. Here you will find military bands, bandstand big bands, and smaller groups such as quartets, quintets, and trombone choirs.

Orchestral Positions

Published by awesometbn on Tagged DMOZ, Orchestral Positions

The idea here is to list symphony orchestra trombone sections, and if possible, identify the principal player and others. This is just a placeholder for our older content, and we plan to make individual posts out of each item as we review it and make updates. Sometimes the personnel links change paths because of subdirectory structures being edited with a new layout or design. But if you think about it, looking back in time is sort of interesting to see who’s who. What would really be cool is a flowchart that shows the progress of individual trombonists across different orchestras; or at least a detailed trombone section history for each orchestra.

Middle School, High School and University Groups

Just curious, but we’d like see some trombones from different Middle Schools, High Schools, and Universities. This is a placeholder for our older content, and we plan to make individual posts out of each item as we review it and make updates. In fact we may have to separate everything into other categories as we go along, and it may even make sense to break it up by state or province.

The (Jonny) Quest For More!

The Story Behind Quest
Don’t look for it in the new adventures of the cartoon character Jonny Quest, but the old version of the Jonny Quest theme song from the 1980s featured trombones carrying the melody. They really rawk! When I was a freshman in high school, the trombone section tried to figure out the tune, but we resigned ourselves to more popular songs on the radio for some reason. Oh well.
